What’s the fuss about blockchain?
Digging into what the blockchain is and how it works instantly blew my mind. It feels as though we are in the early stages of something huge, the difference between pre and post internet.
Blockchain has been been with us for some time now with the introduction of Bitcoin in 2008. But we are still on a journey of uncovering all of the gifts, tools and changes that blockchain can provide us with. It has the capability to completely revolutionise the way in which we live and work, now and even more so in our future.
There has been an evolution in blockchain and there will continue to be, as we still need to take down some of the hurdles we have today, and unravel the inherent opportunity to revolutionise how we exist. From the way we do business to the way we interact with our day to day lives, Blockchain is an opensource opportunity for freedom to both individuals and communities.
Just like with anything new, we stumble at first to look at the opportunity without our pre-conceived Web 2.0, centralised eyes. But slowly as more and more people become accustomed to a new way of being and working, and more products, services and practices incorporate blockchain, we will all be brought forward into a very different looking future.
If I could define the mission of blockchain in my own words it would be
An opensource and trusted tool to rebuild and empower the world from the individual and communities outward
It is comparable to the difference between feeding a man for one day versus teaching him how to sow, tend to and harvest food in all seasons
